AN EVENING of horse racing helped to raise hundreds of pounds for injured jockeys.
A charity race night was held at the Whitchurch Sports and Social Club in October, with the total raised being £350.
Event organiser Steve Cozze has now presented the cheque to jockey Freddy Tylicki, who was paralysed from the waist down after a fall during a horse race in October 2016.
The winners of the auction at the event, Derek and David Hack, were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at Newbury Racecourse with Dr Mark Gorvin.
Derek will also be playing a round of golf with jockey-turned-pundit Mick Fitzgerald.
