AN APPEAL has been made to enhance a garden opposite a war memorial ahead of the centenary of the end of the First World War next year.
The Ludgershall Great War Commemoration group and Ludgershall Town Council are looking for design suggestions to enhance the rose garden, opposite the war memorial, in time for the 2018 commemoration of the end of the war.
The refurbished area will be renamed The Commemorative Garden and will be dedicated during the 2018 remembrance parade service.
The design criteria is the garden must be user friendly for those with special needs; be virtually maintenance free, incorporating a paved surface and raised flower beds; the design must make provision for a pillar clock and two commemorative benches together with an existing fixed position for a Christmas tree.
All suggestions to be submitted to the council by 8 January.
