THREE Andover Athletics Club road runners braved awful weather conditions to get their ticket to Ryde last weekend.
The seventh race of the Hampshire Road Race League took place on a hilly ten mile route on the Isle of Wight.
For the three who braved the race it boded well for two of them with excellent performances.
First home for Andover AC in a massive two minute personal best was Solly Lane, who ran a very even race to power home in a fine 39th in 62:59.
Not too far behind was Dougie Brisco in 57th place, just sneaking under 65 minutes in 64:59 and showing strong form to be third in the V50 category.
Matt Lane, by his own admission didn't have the best of races, and finished just under the 70 minute barrier in 69:25 in 102nd place.
The next event will be the Salisbury 10-mile on March 9.
