Six riders from Andover BMX Club have qualified for the BMX World Championships in Rotterdam in July.
Harry Elliott, Arne Esslemont, Jordi Hart, Morgan Whitely, Jack Gordon Stables and Ady Rumsey will be racing in the GB strip.
Before that on June 1 hundreds of riders from across the country are expected to attend a BMX competition at Andover’s very own track at Charlton..
The two-day contest will be action-packed and adrenaline-fuelled with high-flying jumps and high-speed challenges from both grassroots riders and expert riders.
Races usually last under a minute and are run in quick succession, promising an exciting day which could end in a place at the British Championships later in the year.
The club hope to have an injection of funding to improve the facilities which would take it to national standard with the addition of floodlights for all year round training. Contact the club via www.andoverbmx.co.uk or the AndoverBMX Facebook page.
The club raced last weekend in Gosport in the wind and rain.
Jack Gordon-Stables won all of races easily with young novice rider Gaston following in his older brother Marcell’s footsteps, having his first race in Gosport.
The Elliot brothers (Charlie, Ollie and Harry) and father Steve all had some great races with all picking up some well earned points to take them forward to the British Championships later in the year.
