ANDOVER racer Jake Archer will be travel to Cheshire this weekend to take part in the British Motostar Moto3 championship at Oulton Park.

Archer is the reigning British Motostar Champion but has spent most of this season racing in the Moto2 class.

After a successful return to the Moto3 class at Cadwell Park last time out, Archer will again compete in the category.

He finished with a fifth and a fourth place as he began to reacquaint himself with the KTM Moto3 machine.

In his championship winning year, Archer won both races at Oulton Park in the spring visit of 2018.

On the second trip of last season Archer had one eye on the championship.

On the slippery wet surface in race one Archer crossed the line fifth collecting vital points.

In the second race all he had to do was shadow the second place rider in the series and finish one place behind to take the title.

Archer made a late swap on the grid to slicks as it looked like the rain would hold off and his fourth place finish, +0.614 behind the race winner, was enough to lift the British Motostar Championship title in 2018, with a round to spare.

The 2.7 mile Oulton Park track is located in Little Budworth, Cheshire about 13 miles from Chester. It is known for several tight bends and rapidly changing elevation.

Jake Archer said: "I have some wonderful memories from this circuit. I’ve pretty much always done well there but last year was special. To celebrate taking the Moto3 title with my family and the team was a dream come true. This weekend I would like to be pushing towards the podium places.”
