Summer is coming to Newbury Racecourse, with the first of ten Flat fixtures on the cards throughout June, July and August, kicking off on Thursday June 10 with the Betfair Summer Special.

Excitingly, the afternoon fixture also marks the return of a limited crowd to the racecourse for the first time since December 2020, and the first flat meeting with spectators since October 2019.

To celebrate the return of spectators and summer, racegoers are encouraged to add a splash of yellow to their outfits for the 7-race card.

This could be a dress, a tie, a necklace, hairband or even push the boat out to a suit!

Those most vibrant could be in with a chance to win tickets to a future raceday this summer with on the spot prizes awarded by the Newbury team for those dressed to impress.

Harriet Collins, Marcomms and Sponsorship Director said: “The 10 June marks a particularly positive day for all of us here at the racecourse as we prepare to welcome a limited crowd back through our doors for the first time since 2020.

“There is a real buzz around the site now as we countdown to the Betfair Summer Special afternoon fixture and our ongoing thanks go to Betfair for their support of this raceday. We are particularly looking forward to welcoming back our Annual Members who have been incredibly supportive of us over the last year and are looking forward to hearing the cheers and applause around our parade ring again.

“This truly marks the start of the summer at Newbury, and we’ve got lots planned for all ages to enjoy, including two live music acts, Olly Murs on 14 August and Rick Astley on 18 September. We can’t wait to see everyone again.”

Gates will open from 12noon on Thursday June 10 and tickets must be purchased in advance.

There is a money back guarantee on all ticket purchases if the fixture is cancelled as a result of Covid and are available via newburyracecourse.co.uk. Prices start from just £20 for general admission, with spaces in the newly added Berkshire Restaurant from £135.

One of of the additions for 2021 is the Parade Ring Lawn, where racegoers can enjoy a private table for the day right in the hub of the parade ring action, available from £30 per person.
