Andover New Street’s u16 Girls carried on their impressive winning streak in the JPL shield.

The squad has reached the Semi Finals of the competition after a tense quarter Final away win over Bridgewater.

Despite going a goal down Amelia Riley started the scoring off with an impressive free kick, from just outside the box which found the top left of goal.

Bridgewater would end up retaliating every time New Street took the lead, though this would not deter team morale the slightest as they carried on maintaining a calm and focused atmosphere within the squad.

With Freya Jennings increasing pressure on the opposition’s defence throughout the game, forming countless opportunities for her team, it showed just how capable and worthy the team were for victory.

A one two played between the duo of Olivia Glover and Evie Murphy led to an almighty thunderbolt of a goal from Freya Twigg assisted by teammate Murphy.

Olivier Payne would go on to cause havoc for Bridgewater after winning a one on one and netting a hat trick for the evening to Give New Street the deserved 5-4 win.

The team will play Leicester City on the April 23 in the semi final.
