The UK's fastest circuit held its first race meeting of the season over the weekend around its 2.35 mile track, writes Tim Crisp.

A mixture of events was held across the two days, with the Caterhams filling a large part of the programme on both days, along with Junior Saloons and Hyundai Coupe on Sunday, with the final race of the weekend featuring the 116i BMWs.

Local interest saw two Andover-based drivers, Ben Howarth and Don Gillies, racing in the OT Publishing Coupe Cup with Toyo Tires.

Ben secured a 12th place result in his first outing and followed that up with a 16th in race 2.

For Don, he recorded 5th and 7th place results in the same races.

Salisbury-based driver Bailey Roberts had three races across the weekend in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in his Citroen Saxo VTR.

He scored an 11th place finish in race 1 on Saturday, a 12th place finish in race 2, however, a DNF in race 3 put paid to his racing for the weekend.
