The Andover Triathlon was a success with almost 300 athletes competing in 29-degree heat.
The event, hosted by Andover Triathlon Club, took place at Farleigh School, Red Rice, and offered both a sprint distance and a classic distance race, ending with an 8k run.
There was also a relay race over the classic route.
The morning was reserved for adult competitors, while the afternoon saw youths and children competing as part of the Tri-Star series, where they gain points for races across the country.
The young athletes, aged 8 to 16, raced over varying distances according to their age group.
Despite the blazing heat, competitors were greeted at the finish line with cold sprays and a paddling pool full of sponges.
There were also two larger pools for competitors to cool off in.
A new addition to this year's triathlon was Bloom & Body mobile massage, who provided complimentary recovery massages after the race.
They also offered athletes a 50 per cent discount on a follow-up massage.
Nick Grace, race director, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s triathlon such a success.
"We are incredibly grateful to all the behind-the-scenes helpers who worked tirelessly to get us ready for the weekend, and a special mention must go to the fantastic crew who helped set up on a brutally hot Saturday.
"The feedback on Sunday from competitors and their families was overwhelmingly positive, with so many highlighting how wonderfully friendly and welcoming the event was.
"This is entirely down to our amazing marshals who kept everything running safely and smoothly on the day.
"Thank you all so much for your hard work and for making it such a memorable event."
The members of Andover Triathlon Club who are used to being in the press for their individual and team performances, swapped their running shoes for high-vis jackets to marshal their annual event.
