MANY people will remember the Andover Young Musician of the Year that was held last year in aid of St Mary’s Church after they had their lead removed from the roof several times.
The appeal is still going and the Young Musician is to be run again this year on the 6 February with the event starting at 6.30pm in the church with all proceeds going to the church once again.
We were delighted with the response from our senior schools and this year we have six of the seven schools putting in three acts in two categories, classical and popular music.
We would also like to thank Stannah for giving us the prizes and David Mellor Jewellers, for giving us money to run the event. This means that all money taken at the door and advance ticket sales goes directly to the church funds.
St Mary’s Church is one of the iconic buildings in the town and desperately needs to be repaired and kept for our children and our children’s children so please come along and enjoy yourselves.
Tickets from The Lights and Waterstones or direct from me at Christopher.lynn@talktalk.net Chris Lynn, Andover
