THANK you for publishing the item about the Longparish and Whitchurch WW1 Memorial Concert.
Your readers may be interested to know that an exhibition telling the stories of some of the fallen named on the Longparish memorial will remain in place at St Nicholas Church in Longparish until the middle of December.
During my research for the exhibition I found an item in an edition of the Andover Advertiser of 1919 telling how the district council accepted an offer from the war department of a “souvenir” German field gun. The council asked for it to be delivered to the Fairground at Weyhill. It would be interesting if any of your readers knows what happened to the gun.
