I FEEL so sorry for the young people of today.
They have to put up with jeans which have rips in them, especially in the knee area.
This must be very uncomfortable in the winter.
It is such a common sight that, if I didn’t know better, I might think that it was a fashionable feature.
When I was young, in the 1940s and 1950s, if my clothes had a tear, my mother would sew a patch on.
She taught me to do this and I became quite proficient at it.
Perhaps people can’t afford patches and I wonder if it would be possible to set up a charity which could supply these?
A suitable name might be “Kneedy Patches”.
