COUNCILLOR North states, ‘… about the need for Andover to sustain a modern and vibrant town centre’ (Andover Advertiser 16 February).
Have I missed something here, how can anyone sustain what is not there.
Councillor North also says, ‘Perhaps ... there will ... be a greater focus on the town centre as a social and leisure destination’.
The people who now no longer use Andover for anything but a few basics, surely also already find their ‘social and leisure destinations’ outside the town boundaries.
The cinemas, theatres, cathedral towns with history, fully functional shopping centres — all in the other towns — can’t see little old Andover ever keeping up with the out of town activities on offer.
