A DRINK driver in his 70s has been banned from the road for 16 months.

Kevin Lugg, 73, was stopped by officers whilst he was driving a 53-reg Porsche Boxster on the A3057 at Leckford on New Year's Day.

When tested he returned a reading of 125 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, when the legal limit is 80.

Lugg, of High Street, Stockbridge, pleaded guilty.

Magistrates in Basingstoke disqualified him from driving for 16 months, fined him £126 and ordered he pay £85 costs ad a £34 victim surcharge by April 14.
