Andover should brace for freezing temperatures as parts of the UK are set to be gripped by snow and ice.

The Met Officer has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Although Andover is set to avoid the weather warnings, for now, it does not mean we will avoid the freezing weather.

Monday, January 15, could see temperatures as low as minus four degrees, as the Met Office warns that motorists should stay vigilant and anticipate ice on the roads.

The sun will be shining over the town on Monday and Tuesday, January 16 – with Tuesday looking slightly warmer, seeing highs of three degrees and lows of minus two degrees. 

Unfortunately, it is set to get even colder on Wednesday, January 17, with forecasters predicting lows of minus four degrees for Basingstoke.

Sun will return on Thursday, January 18, with temperatures ranging from three to minus two. 

Friday, January 19, is also due to have sunshine for periods, but temperatures will remain cold. 

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Much colder with sharp overnight frosts, also dry until Wednesday when there is a risk of snow along the south coast. Breezy at times with significant wind chill.”
