AN ANDOVER man who is facing charges of assaulting police officers and beating two men will face a trial after he pleaded not guilty to beating one of the men.

Buster Perkins, 28, of Stubbs Court in Andover, has pleaded guilty to assaulting two officers and beating one man.

However, he denied beating the second man – Marcus Thonner.

A Basingstoke magistrates court on Monday, January 29, heard that the prosecution is still waiting from police for the body cam footages of the incident that happened in London Street on April 16 when Perkins is accused of assaulting the officers and the two men.

Perkins is also facing another charge of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 at an Andover address on April 30, 2023.

He has pleaded guilty to this charge.

The sentencing for the charges he pleaded guilty to will take place after the trial that is scheduled at Aldershot Magistrates Court on May 8.

He has been released on unconditional bail until then.
