TWO Basing View firms have been recognised as top companies to work for.

NewVoiceMedia, headquartered at Belvedere and Business Environment which operates serviced offices at ViewPoint have been ranked 95 th and 77 th respectively in the Top 100 Best Companies to Work For 2014, by The Sunday Times.

In fact it is the seventh year running that Business Environment have made it in the annual listing.

It measures excellence across a number of workplace factors including leadership, employee wellbeing, pay and benefits as well as treatment of staff.

Thrilled with the news, Lisa Liney, who is the centre manager at ViewPoint said: “Our success as a company is dependent on our ability to source and recruit the best staff, whilst ensuring all team members are happy and challenged within their job role. The team we have working in Basingstoke is a brilliant one and it’s great to see that rewarded.”

Some of Business Environment’s more distinctive policies include encouraging all employees to take three days off a year to volunteer for charity, use of gyms, delivering cakes to clients and colleagues each Friday, a stop-smoking initiative, and setting up a green team, which ensures all working areas are being as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Managing director David Saul, said: “Making The Sunday Times list again is a huge feat for Business Environment. The fact that it is the opinions of our teams that we are judged on makes this award even more important as it demonstrates we are running a happy and successfully functioning unit.

“Every one of my colleagues should be extremely proud of themselves for helping to create such a positive working environment.”

NewVoiceMedia chief executive Jonathan Gale was also delighted with the news, which saw the company accredited with a two-star outstanding rating.

The survey revealed that 84 per cent of NewVoiceMedia staff feel stretched and challenged by their job, 94 per cent are excited about the vision and execution of the organisation and 87 per cent “wouldn’t leave tomorrow if they had another job offer.”

The judges also highlighted NewVoiceMedia’s excellent employee benefits, along with competitive overall remuneration. Employees are offered share options, making them – 93 per cent – feel they can make a valuable contribution to the company’s success.

The Best Companies ranking closely follows NewVoiceMedia’s double win at the Private Business Awards, where Jonathan achieved CEO of the Year and the company was honoured with the Rising Star award for the South East region.

NewVoiceMedia is growing at more than twice the rate of the rapidly expanding cloud contact centre market and has doubled its number of staff over the last year to meet increased demand for its technology.

Jonathan said: “Making the company a fun and stimulating place to work is a core part of our strategy, and we are delighted that we’re able to attract such exceptional talent as a result.

“It's great to see that we are living up to our responsibilities as an employer and that our employees feel valued and excited about the company’s vision.

“Our people are central to our success and I'm extremely proud of what we've achieved together. We will use the feedback to continue building a great working environment and strong company culture."
