It was all change for Dawn Boyd racing at Silverstone recently. After the devastating 100mph+ crash at Snetterton which destroyed her Fiesta, it was all hands on deck to source and build a replacement in time to race again.

LAST weekend saw the annual 200m championships for Andover Swimming and Water Polo Club, held over three nights at Andover Leisure Centre. There were five events in each age category, U14 girls, U14 boys, women’s open and men’s open. The events consisted of 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 200m backstroke, 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley (IM).

Due to Charlton track being unfit for competitions Andover AC, sponsored by Ashwells Estate Agents, held its Annual Young Athletes meeting at Tidworth Oval on Sunday attracting nearly 300 athletes, with more than 60 competing from Andover AC. Despite the cool blustery conditions there were still a number of PBs from Andover athletes and also a new club record.

Amport II too strong for nine-man Shrewton III

Amport II v Shrewton III. The torrential downpour at 12.30 put the game in doubt, but the well-crafted pitch, square and outfield together with a drying wind meant only a small delay to the start of the 2013 season. A 37 over game was set in motion with nine man Shrewton surprisingly choosing to bat. The Amport opening attack of Sam Birks and debutant Rory Griffen struggled at first until Birks struck twice to leave Shrewton 26-2.
