STORM KATIE COMING: Met Office warns Basingstoke will be battered by 50mph winds and torrential rain TONIGHT
HOLD on, Basingstoke - the Met Office has put the area on a weather warning as Storm Katie is set to bring chaos overnight tonight.
Forecasters have put Hampshire on alert, with Andover due to experience 50mph winds and heavy rain from 1am onwards (early hours of Monday morning).
The torrential rain and high winds is expected to last for at least six hours, as Katie passes through.
The Met Office said: "A period of heavy, persistent rain is expected to move northeastwards Sunday night and Monday morning, bringing a risk of surface water flooding, perhaps exacerbated in places by wind-blown debris.
"Be aware that some low level disruption from localised flooding looks likely."
