A TEAM from Valley Leisure were triumphant in the annual Shrove Tuesday pancake race held in Andover High Street.

In the final race the Valley Leisure team narrowly edged ahead of the runners from Tesco to claim the title.

In the three previous heats the teams from Waitrose, Valley Leisure and Tesco came out on top to book their places in the final.

Teams from Tesco Extra, Enham, Sainsbury’s, Simplyhealth, Newbury Building Society, The Breeze and the mayor’s own team also took part and overall £200 was raised for the mayor’s community chest.

Max Brown, Ed Peszkowski, Jacob Wise and Chris Attrill made up the winning Valley Leisure team.

Max said: “I think it was the fancy dress which helped, it provided a good distraction during the races.”

All the money raised went to the Test Valley Borough Council mayor’s community chest.
