OFSTED inspectors have declared that Longparish Primary School is outstanding in their latest report of the school.

The results of the inspection, which took place on 15 and 16 January, saw the school improve on its good status to reach the highest accolade.

The overall effectiveness of the school is deemed as outstanding, as well as the achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils, and leadership and management.

Comments in the summary of report included: “The school is led by a very effective and successful headteacher who has secured the improvements to the school since the last inspection.

“The school is well supported by a very knowledgeable governing body that holds the school to account for the progress pupils make.

“Leaders, managers and governors have worked well together to ensure teaching and achievement have improved. The school has an excellent capacity for further improvement.

“The work the school does across the curriculum and with other outside groups contributes strongly to the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of the pupils.

“Pupils say they are very well prepared to move onto secondary school.”

However, the report did add that in order for the school to improve further it needed to: “Ensure the action plans identifying how the primary sports funding is to be used and how the impact will be assessed enable school leaders, including governors, to monitor if it is making a difference in enhancing the delivery of PE and school sport.”

The headteacher, Mrs Alex Foggo, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted Inspection.

“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole staff team.”

The Friends of Longparish School (FoLS) also congratulated Mrs Foggo, teachers, teaching assistants, governors and the children at Longparish CE Primary School on achieving their outstanding Ofsted result.
