WHITCHURCH music festival Rockus proved to be big hit once again as a sell-out crowd descended on the Longmeadow Indoor Arena.

The festival took place between 1pm and midnight and was treated to perfect sunshine and top performances from The Beat, Echotape, KTS, Dream Overkill, Surfin Lungs and Catballou.

Mike Poole, one of the event organising team, said: “This year’s Rockus festival has been a huge success with six brilliant bands playing to an enthusiastic sell-out audience, plus a standout performance from The Beat.

“To top it all the sun shone and we really couldn’t have asked for more! We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved, and a particular mention to Bryan Hirst Ltd, whose support made it possible to put on such a show.”

Martin Page, event manager added: “We are all delighted with the way this year’s event has gone. We aim to bring the big festival atmosphere to our small town for one day, and we certainly achieved that!

“All the bands put on a great performance and the acoustic stage was once again one of the highlights of my year.”

Fiona Miller added: “We were delighted to sell out and we’re already looking forward to planning our 2015 event!”
