ANDOVER Small Business Fair saw local entrepreneurs showcase what they had to offer in the town centre.

The event, which is run by Test Valley Borough Council’s High Street Events group, allows local businesses to take over High Street to help them find new customers and share advice with each other.

More than 30 businesses turned up on the day, including Andrea and Barrie Baker, who run a franchise of lawn treatment specialists Greensleeves.

The green-fingered team were attending their first fair and Andrea was pleased with how the day went.

She said: “This is the first one we’ve been to and it’s been fun.

“It highlights what is available locally, which is good because a lot of people like to use local businesses.”

Alongside the new faces there were some business fair veterans as well.

Lauren Mildenberger, owner of Ruby Slippers Show School and Enchanted Parties, was attending her sixth fair and was once again pleased with the event.

She said: “A lot of people have come up and spoke to us and it’s a great opportunity to go out and meet people. When people come by a lot of them will take the time to come and have a look at what you have and for small businesses that is great.”

This month’s fair was the last this year but Test Valley BC is already looking for businesses to sign up for next year’s events, which will be held in April, June and September.
