A quarter of households have a dog
THE most popular dog breeds in Andover have been revealed, based on postcode microchipping data.
Labrador Retrievers are our favourite, followed by Jack Russell Terriers, Cocker Spaniels, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and English Springer Spaniels.
There are more than 6,000 Labrador Retrievers in the Southampton post code area.
More than 509,000 Labradors were tagged in the past decade by pet registration companies Petlog and Animalcare, making it the country's most popular breed.
According to the Pet Food Manufacturer's Association, about 25 per cent of all households own a dog.
