POLICE in Andover to stay encourage residents to stay vigilant when typing in their PIN numbers after a woman was the victim of theft and fraud.

The incident took place on Thursday 1 October when the victim was paying for her shopping at Sainsburys in Bridge Street.

Suspects saw the victim type her PIN number into the machine and then followed her back to her home address.

Once at the address the suspects asked the female for directions, this is when her bank card was stolen.

The suspects then tried to withdraw money from a cash point.

Luckily the attempts to withdraw cash were unsuccessful due to the transaction being unusual.
A police spokesperson said: "Please be mindful of who is around when typing in your PIN number.

"Each time you type your PIN into a cash machine or card machine, use your other hand to conceal it.

"This will prevent opportunists from ascertaining your details and stop you from becoming a victim of theft or fraud."
