AN ANDOVER man has been fined and given a community order for assault by beating and breaking previous community orders.

Phillip John Hinton pleaded guilty to one count of beating his victim in Andover on Saturday 25 June when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.

The 53-year-old, of Bridge Street, was given a victim surcharge fine of £85 and ordered to participate in a rehabilitation activity for a maximum of 20 days.

Three other counts gave gave information on the community order that Hinton had breached.

Two of the counts detailed the original offences which Hinton committed.

On Tuesday 13 January and Sunday 22 February last year Hinton assaulted his victim by beating.

He was ordered to participate in a rehabilitation activity for a maximum of 20 days by North Hampshire Magistrates Court on Tuesday 3 March last year.

This was revoked in favour of the new community order.
