AN ANDOVER mum has wowed judges twice in the last six weeks to walk away with two bikini body trophies.

Elisha Thompson blew away other competitors at the ‘UKBFF’s ultimate beginners – stars of tomorrow’ competition in Kent in July, before she followed it up with victory in the UKBFF klassics competition six weeks later.

The 26-year-old’s success in the latter competition has earned her a place in the national finals in Nottingham this October.

According to the UKBFF (United Kingdom Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation): “The bikini category is aimed at women, who are keeping their body in shape by eating healthy and keeping fit.

“Muscular definition is not allowed, but body tone and a healthy overall physical appearance is essential.”

She said: “It’s a great feeling, I’m buzzing and elated. “It’s a constant reminder that with determination, dedication and discipline you will succeed, always follow your dreams.”

Her success didn’t come easily though as she admits that to get into that shape she trains between five and six times a week for three hours at a time.

However, the former Harrow Way pupil does come with a good pedigree, following in the footsteps of her mother, who also won bikini beauty competitions, and was also crowned Miss Basingstoke and Miss Bournemouth.

In her professional life, mother-of-one Elisha works as a teaching assistant at Endeavour Primary School and is a qualified fitness instructor, working at Caffrey’s Gym.

Elisha said: “Caffrey’s is my primary base for training, Martin Caffrey has always supported me, he’s also a good friend of mine.

She added: “I would like to thank my amazing coach Michelle Brannan for all her support.

“I’m grateful to be part of her supportive team showgirl fitness.

“Thank you to my fellow competitors Samantha DuncanSmith and Vicky Lewis who both have been supportive throughout my journey and to all my family and friends.

“Thanks to Caffrey’s gym for their sponsorship.”

“Training will continue though as it’s just five weeks to British finals.”
