WALKING footballers showed their appreciation to Middle Wallop’s Army Aviation Centre (AAC) with a £500 donation this month.
Andover District Football League (ADFL) has been running walking football sessions for the over 50s since 2016, but with the closure of the sports centre in Andover the group found it difficult to find a replacement venue elsewhere.
AAC came to their rescue making their facilities open to the group for their Tuesday sports night, and the group has donated a lump sum to the Army Aviation Charities as a thank you on May 15.
ADFL Gordon Hopkins is encouraging more people to join the group and come along.
Mr Hopkins said: “We have those between 50-60 and also on into their 70’s, so a good age mix with a friendly and fun orientated evening guaranteed.”
