A CHILDREN’S hairdressers has celebrated a successful first three months of business with a grant.

J4K, in High Street, Andover, has been awarded £500 from Test Valley Borough Council’s Independent Retailer scheme.

With 23 years in business as a qualified hairdresser Sharon Liquorish noticed a gap in the market in children’s hairdressing and decided to open up a new salon.

Sharon said: “The response to J4K has been overwhelming.

“Thank you for the support from my loyal customers and to Test Valley Borough Council for the Independent Retailer Grant, which is a substantial amount to invest in my new business.”

She was presented the cheque by Andover St Marys ward member Councillor John Cockaday.

He said: “Sharon saw an opportunity to meet the needs of Andover’s younger residents and ran with it. I’m delighted to present this grant to High Street children’s hairdressers, J4K, on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council and I wish Sharon continued success.”
