A POPULAR Hampshire race circuit is set to host a weekend of action as the UK’s biggest car series heads south this weekend.

Rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) will take over Thruxton on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4.

As well as two days of top-class racing, the venue will see activities for the whole family such as the pitlane walkabout and autograph session on Sunday morning, a dedicated kids’ zone with bouncy castles, children's rides and mini karts and a market village.

Reigning BTCC champion Tom Ingram is just seven points behind him in second following his first victory of the season in round nine at the Norfolk track. The Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8 driver pushed through from seventh on the starting grid to take the win.

Meanwhile, the ‘King of Thruxton’, Josh Cook, heads to the Hampshire meeting in ninth position. Cook, from Bristol, claimed his title when he became the most successful BTCC driver on Thruxton circuit last year.
