AN ANCIENT mill mentioned in the Domesday Book, which is now one of the most popular pubs in Andover, Town Mills is the perfect place for a pint next to the River Anton.
Whether you feel like having a Sunday lunch or a relaxing afternoon in a beer garden, this pub has it all.
Described as "a country pub in the middle of town" by landlord Pete Richards, Town Mills is a historic site which many readers will have visited over the years.
Pete said: "What makes it great is that it's a real team effort, not just myself but my wife and landlady Pam, and all the team put in so much effort to keep this place running."

The pair have been at the helm for 20 years, and have recently implemented a new menu, carefully crafted by head chef and deputy Steve Warner.
He said: "We're keeping the classics, the signature Town Mills burgers, but we've reinvented some things on menu, which we know people are going to love.
"You'll see beef ragu, some new puddings and even Greek salad, there will be cuisine for all pallets."
Pete added: "We also have a comprehensive package of buffet offerings, both hot and cold, and cater for many occasions."

The huge pub offers a selection of alcohol and soft beverages, and is dog and pet friendly.
"We have a couple of parrots who come as regular visitors," said Pete.
Town Mills boasts a "world-famous quiz" every Wednesday at 8pm and regularly hosts a variety of themed events.
"In the past we've done a 60s night, Best of British, St Paddy's Day, and we have live entertainment here too," Pete added.
"Upstairs can be hired for occasions, and we also have tents outside."
He continued: "Our visitors often spot wildlife like otters running up and down the river, kingfishers frequently perch nearby, water voles and of course the river's famed brown trout.
"The building itself is so historic, these old oak beams, the water wheel, it's very unique and has character."
The Domesday Book of 1086 states that there were six mills in Andover but does not explicitly name them, however, any mill needs a body of water for power and this building would have been one of the Domesday six, being on a prime site across the River Anton.
