A GROUP of year sixes received a special visit from a former evacuee to help them with their history lessons.
Robert Hambling, 94, went to Awbridge Primary School to talk with the 10 and 11-year-olds about his experience as a child in World War Two.
Robert was 10 at the start of the war, in 1939, and told the children all about his time at school, including being evacuated from London to Wales and then back again.

Mrs Jayne Fahey, headteacher, met the former evacuee at her morning swims and was so inspired by his stories that she invited him to school.
Mrs Fahey said: “Children all learned so much and felt very honoured by the visit. The children were captivated and had so many questions that Robert answered.”
The year six pupils shared their lunchtime with Mr Hambling and hope he will be back again.
