ANDOVER motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am January 6 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

• A303, from 9pm December 4 2023 to 6am February 16 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Parkhouse to M3, slip road and lane closures for signage work.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M3, from 8pm January 2 to 6am January 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 9, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• A303, from 8pm January 3 to 5am January 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Hundred Acre, slip road and lane closure for carriageway reconstruction,.

• A303, from 8pm January 8 to 5am January 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound, Salisbury Road, exit slip road and lane closure for barrier repairs.

• A34, from 8pm January 8 to 6am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington, Lane closures for inspection work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
