WORK by amateur artists and seasoned sculptors was on display in Middle Wallop on Saturday, as the Wallop Artists held their annual exhibition.
The event attracted a healthy number of visitors.
Despite the credit crunch making an impact on sales, the exhibition still raised over £4,700.
The cash will be split between the 40 exhibiting artists and the group, which takes 12.5 per cent of the sale price to fund future demonstrations.
Four married couples exhibited their artwork while the standout sale was a bronze sculpture of a black panther by Margot Dent, which raised £1,200.
The society's chairman Faye Pearce said: "It was a high standard and we had a lot of positive comments from people who came. The society is open to anybody who lives in or immediately near the village, and people can show any work that they like.
"We don't vet what they hang so while we aspire to a high standard, there is a complete variety of work by all kinds of people."
She added: "We have got quite a lot of new members, and quite a few of them displayed this year, which was lovely."
