THE Mayor of Test Valley launched this year’s Poppy Appeal for the Andover area on Saturday.

Brian Page officially launched the appeal, which raises money for the Royal British Legion and remembers those who have fallen in war, at a stall in the town’s High Street.

Organised by the Andover Branch of the Royal British Legion and volunteer Lin Waller, the theme of this year’s appeal is ‘serving those who serve’. The nationwide appeal is aiming to better the £27.5 million raised in 2007.

The launch was also attended by John Box, chairman of the Andover RBL, as well as veterans and members of the Army Air Corps Cadets.
