OVER 250 people enjoyed free art and craft activities at The Lights during the Easter holidays when craft agency The Making led workshops and demonstrations.
Children and families filled the venue and working together they built wooden toy birds, crafted colourful kites and made Easter fascinators.
They were also shown how to shape copper wire into spring chicks, turn old jewellery into sparkling new jewellery and make spring flowers from their own handmade paper.
In addition to these workshops the participants were kept amused with demonstrations by ceramicist Elaine Peto who sculpted March hares from clay and storytelling by Chris Bennett.
They were treated to two performances by local band The Hazel Trio – and The Making also commissioned sculptor Mark Beeston to run workshop sessions for students from Andover College to create a massive coloured mobile for The Lights.
The Cherry Blossom mobile is now on display along with some of the students’ other work in The Lights Arena.
Faye Bradley, from The Lights, said: “It was an inspiring day watching so many families being creative together, especially watching the adults getting messy and stuck in.”
