HOTEL company Travelodge says its planned new £3.2m 78-bed hotel in the centre of Andover will prove to be a winner with the travelling public and provide 15 new jobs.

The Chantry Street hotel will form part of wider mixed use redevelopment, comprising residential, retail and the Travelodge hotel.

Travelodge’s managing director for development, Paul Harvey said: “With this exchange in such a key location as Andover, our growth pipeline for 2010 is off to a flying start.

“Whilst the property market is still challenging we have been able to add some fantastic sites, such as Andover, to our estate.

“Already this year, we have managed to enter new towns for the first time and build on our presence in crucial cities and towns such as Andover.”
