Police are investigating an arson attack where a brand new BMW was set on fire in Jaggard View, Amesbury.
At approximately 23:55pm on Saturday 28 July, police were called by a l resident stating a silver BMW was on fire in Jaggard View. The fire brigade also attended and put the fire out. Once the fire was extinguished, only a shell of what the vehicle was left, as the interior had burnt away.
The vehicle took several hours to cool down before it could be examined by police.
PC Lloyd Davy, the investigating officer said: “This was extremely dangerous as the fire could have spread or caused serious harm to someone nearby. We believe that this fire was set deliberately and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and speak to us about this.”
