Cannabis dealer escapes jail time with suspended sentence
AN Andover cannabis dealer has escaped jail time after a judge agreed to impose a suspended sentence.
Martin David Duncombe admitted to possession of a quantity of cannabis with intent to supply the class B drug when he appeared before Judge Christopher Parker in Winchester Crown Court.
The court heard how the 37-year-old, of Pilgrims Way, was found with a quantity of the controlled drug by police in Andover in July last year.
Judge Parker sentenced Duncombe to 16 months imprisonment, suspended for 24 months.
He was further made the subject of a community order requiring him to complete 20 hours of rehabilitation activities and 24 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £200 costs.
