A TAXI driver was assaulted following an altercation between passengers.
The driver was left shaken after the incident which happened on Pennings Road, Tidworth, in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, 10 September.
At just after midnight an altercation broke out between passengers in the taxi and when the driver tried to get one offender out of his vehicle he was assaulted, although he was not seriously injured.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and has been released under investigation.
Appealing for witnesses, Sgt Andrea Faircloth of Wiltshire Police, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in this area at this time to come forward – if you heard or saw anything suspicious please contact me.
"We'd also like to speak to a woman who called police but didn't leave her name or number, if that was you please come forward again."
