TEST Valley School young sports leaders led the way at a Key Stage 1 Festival for five of the local catchment schools.

Year 7 young leaders from Test Valley School and Personal Best Education coaches from Mountbatten School organised the event which saw 70 pupils taking part.

The Personal Best Education coaching company organised a movement and multi skills morning for the Key Stage 1 pupils, and with the help of the Test Valley young leaders were able to keep the primary school pupils occupied for two hours with a variety of activities including parachute games and the inflatable gymnastics track.

Pupils were prepared for the session with a fun warm-up which the young leaders became fully involved in and made sure the primary pupils knew what to do.

The young leaders worked hard to encourage high levels of performance from all the Key Stage 1 pupils.

Louisa Hiscock, head teacher, said: “This was a wonderful event with the primary school pupils clearly having fun, full of enthusiasm and learning a variety of skills.

“The coaches encouraged all the pupils to try new activities and do their best. We were also very proud of our own young sports leaders who did an excellent job supporting the younger pupils and helping to run the activities.

“We always enjoy hosting such events at Test Valley School because everyone involved gains so much from it and my thanks go to Mrs Smith for co-ordinating this.”
