JOHN Hanson Community Choir showed their talents off to Andover shoppers when they sang in the Time Ring in the town centre.

The choir performed a range of songs including Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, Alicia Keys ‘Empire State Of Mind’ and Beatles’ classic ‘Let It Be’.

Ross Gooding, musical director of the choir, said: “It was not long before the choir had a big crowd of people watching with some even singing along.

“At the end of our performance we had lots of interest in the choir and had lots of people wanting to join the choir or come to watch us perform again.

“The choir rehearses every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm in the drama studio at the school and are always happy to welcome new members.

“There are no restrictions as to age or ability and we welcome anybody in the local community; we are simply a choir who sings for the love of singing.

“If you want to join the choir then please come along and join us in September for the new academic year when we will be preparing for our upcoming engagements, which include the Andover Christmas lights switch on and our big Christmas concert at St Mary’s Church.”
