PILES of clothes and tasty treats awaited crowds at an Andover school on Saturday.

Abbotts Ann Primary School, in Duck Lane, held its biannual jumble sale offering a treasure trove of bargains for the keen-eyed shoppers who came along.

The school has held twice-yearly sales for more than a decade and, according to its Parent Teacher Association (PTA), they have never dipped in popularity, with bargain hunters queuing up for up to an hour before and around the block to get in and this time was no different.

Co-chair of the PTA Ali Palmer said: “The day went really well we had more than 150 adults plus children which was great.

“We were very fortunate to be donated some really lovely items for the sale.”

Parents, friends and family of pupils and the school descended onto the sale to take a look at the usual clothes, books and toys, along with the many unusual items that were billed to be on display.

There were also homemade cakes, teas and coffees available to help sustain the hungry shoppers.

Over £1,000 was made from the sale which will go back to the school.
