HEALTH bosses are to work harder to raise awareness in Andover of plans to seek Foundation Trust status.

Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust boss, Mr Martin Wakeley told the trust board members last week that managers were working behind the scenes on the business plan.

The trust should know by November whether it can give the green light to a full application.

But that would depend entirely on the trust meeting its financial and quality targets.

Mr Brian Robinson, of the Andover Reconfiguration Steering Group, who praised the board for its commitment to Andover, said that people in the town were less aware of the work being done towards getting foundation status.

Trust board chairman Mike Gretton said it was important that the people of Andover were made more aware of the work being done on the Foundation Trust application.
