A ROMSEY road is now open after a lorry hit a bridge in the town earlier this morning.
Police were called to the Greatbridge railbridge shortly after 9.15am after reports that a refuse lorry was jammed under the structure that carries the Southampton to Salisbury line.
Train services were halted for a time while Network Rail staff checked the bridge for damage.
The road finally re-opened at around 2pm
A police spokesperson said no one was injured in the incident. It is not known who the lorry belongs to at this time.
