Castle Combe staged its Father's (Satur)Day Race Meeting last weekend in bright, sunny and dry weather and track conditions writes Tim Crisp.
Local Builder Ray Ferguson was once again racing at the 1.85 mile Wiltshire circuit but firstly he had to qualify his MG ZR for the latest round of the circuit's own Saloon Car Championship in conjunction with On-Pole High Performance. Ray is still getting to grips with the track and posted a time of 1:28.987 which placed him on the 15th row of the ever growing grid in this championship.
Ray completed nine laps in qualifying and set his best time on his seventh lap. In the race he knocked more than two seconds off of his qualifying time during the battle again with fellow MG ZR driver James Blake which helped him to a 13th in class and 28th overall finish.
