The North Gloucester Road Racing Club staged its annual visit to Castle Combe over the weekend.

The two day meeting was rounds six and seven of this year’s championship, and this saw local riders in action closer to home than normal.

Over the weekend there were more than 40 races in total and on Saturday Weyhill's Nick Andrews was in action along with Tom Vear and Chris Whitehouse who are both from Sutton Scotney.

Andrews, who rides a Suzuki GSXR 600 K2 was racing in the Simon Consulting Open 600 as well as the Phoenix Open where he finished in 15th and 20th places, a great set of results against some top international riders who had just finished racing on the Isle of Man TT event a few weeks ago.

Vear and Whitehouse race in the Metzeler DTR Streetstocks Championship where Vear had a third place finish on his Suzuki GSXR 600 in his qualifying race and a second place finish in the main race, with Whitehouse on a Triumph Daytona 675 seventh and sixth respectively in the two Saturday races.

On Sunday Andrews backed up his good rides with a fine ride which saw him finish 18thout of 39 on the eight lap race around the 1.85 mile track.

The next meeting is at Donington Park at the end of July with the final round at Thruxton in October.
