ANDOVER New Street reserves started their campaign with a friendly against an experienced and well-drilled Otterbourne side.

A very young Street squad showed a little inexperience when, after 10 minutes, the home side took the lead.

Street got their act together and a great ball from Harry Lawton found Ben Emans at the back post to slot home the equaliser.

Street then went on the attack and again after working the ball out wide Shea Massey became provider for Zac Tolfrey to make it 2-1.

Street were now in control until the referee handed the home side a very soft penalty which was put away to make it 2-2 at the break.

Street started the second half very slow and found themselves 3-2 down within minutes of the restart.

Again Street took control and went close on a number of occasions, eventually their pressure and superior fitness paid off, good work from Max Allen and Harry Lawton put Sam Ellis through on goal and his shot was palmed out and Emans swept home the rebound.

Manager Decklin Barrett said “I’m really pleased with the maturity that this young side played with. They have a lot to learn but are certainly moving in the right direction.”
