Andover’s Holly Mills narrowly missed out on a Commonwealth medal after finishing fourth in the heptathlon on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old from Hurstbourne Tarrant finished fourth with 6095 points as Katarina Johnson-Thompson won the gold.
The 29-year-old triumphed with 6377 points ahead of Northern Ireland’s Kate O’Connor who took silver and England team-mate Jade O’Dowda in third in Birmingham.
Mills was just 17 points behind O’Dowda.
In 800m, the final event of heptathlon, Holly finished first at 2:11.42, but it wasn’t enough to claim the bronze medal.
