Andover II 7 Chichester IV 3.

ANDOVER II went down to an early goal and yet did not allow panic to set in.

The home side’s resilience and some fast, organised play led to Dan Allen equalising within few minutes. This carried on, with the pressure creating penalty corners and one brought the second goal from Rob Leonard after a swift exchange with Mark Green left the keeper stranded and the ball in the net. More skilful play followed, but a moment’s lapse allowed Chichester to draw level. The first half stayed close with the ball moving from end to end, but Andover went into the break on a high, with Justin Adcock slotting home his first.

The start of the second half was a strange affair with Chichester being awarded a goal by the umpires when the ball was struck from outside the area. The team responded by pushing and working hard and four goals followed, from Allen, Adcock, Green and Craig Smith, each one finished well, really showing the visitors a hard time.
